The inaugural mission was to SUP Isla Venado in Mazatlan, and lay out the new line of Starboard inflatable ASTRO SUP’s for the people of Mazatlan to try…The van was loaded and the crew chimed in – Sue, Jake, Sofia, Iballa, Vero, and Adam…

Deciding to take the road less travelled and supposed short cut thru San Blas, we were given very careful intructions to keep the Pacific Ocean on our left side and follow the road.. easy enough task considering the electronic navigation devices out numbered crew… how could we go wrong?… but then after a bad slice of banana bread and cluster of shrubs… to our dismay, the Pacific Ocean was in fact on our right side… Vero our chief navigator quickly pointed out that it must be a lake and we pushed on into the wild wilderness in the land of Mango Margaritas and long peeling waves…we were lost in Matanchen..
Soon after the iPads and iphones confirmed that we were lost, we made a quick u turn and got back on track.. just in time for the gas light to come on…
We arrived in Mazatlan after a military strip search and checked into the El Cid hotel on Castilla beach. Our friend and SUP expeditioner Sue Jacobs had commandeered rooms for us and being in her presence we recieved the royal treatment. (Sue is a god in the travel business) slippers, bath robes, champagne, Mariachi band, VIP pool…The Starboard SUP tour was well received…
Satuday morning… our friends at Aqua Sports Center Mazatlan fired up the SharktoSUP – the amphibious beach assult vehicles. Starboard Astro Inflatables were blown up, and everyone was ready to go!
